Jaeger "Zennor" Done

Well, I worked on my Jaeger Natural Fleece V-neck ("Zennor" from JB36) and am done with it. Woo-hoo....not sure if I'll actually leave the house wearing it as it is HUGE. More on my blog if you're interested. Also I've frogged some projects since I last posted so I thought I would show my updated list.

Projects Still in Need of Additional Knitting
1. Stitch Diva Knitted Bodice - started 9/1 for KAL and am on the sleeves, should be done later this week
2. Bob's Big Wool basketweave cardigan from Men in Knits - finish left front; do right front, sleeves - gift knitting
3. Peg's garter stitch vest - webcast/gift knitting frogged, will be making her something else
4. coral CeCe in Calmer - all pieces are joined and need to knit up to finish remainder of front and back: to be finished in spring
5. Debbie Bliss lace/bobble jacket - fix pattern (rip few rows back) and finish back: to be finished in spring
6. cast on this week - "Jessica" in Colinette Shimmer 5: done with body, need to do sleeves

Projects that Just Need Sewing/Picking Up Stitches
1. Noah's v-neck Yarn Girls "Mikey Liked It" pullover - sew
2. fuschia Cork baby sweater - sew (now of no particular urgency as my one friend who was pregnant had a boy, so I have to cast on something different for him)
3. Greek Pullover from Interweave Knits – sew
4. Noro V-neck – sew
5. Jaeger Natural Fleece V-neck with "fur" trimmed sleeves from JB 38 – pick up neck, sew DONE

Injured List/Questionable
1. Green Gable in Brown Sheep Lilac Haze - fix or RIP RIPPED, will start over in spring
2. Plymouth Napa ballet pullover from Interweave Knits back issue - finish sleeves or RIP
3. yellow/orange cork garter ridge sweater from Rowan Cork Collection – fix or RIP RIPPED, wool to be repurposed

So now I have 10 in process - not bad - I'm recovering.

Two steps ....minus one

1. Print O'The Wave Shawl from Eunny, in Kidsilk Haze, mossy green.

2. A Cardigan for my stepfather for Christmas, Filati Magazine Special Men, Model number 35, the Material is Lana Grossa Pulcino (discontinued) in chocolate brown.

3. A sweater for my brother for Christmas, Filati Magazine Special Men, Model number 12/2. The original yarn called for is Lana Grossa Numero Uno Tweed. I have changed it to Cool Wool Big (100% Merino), since I made him a sweater in the Tweed a couple of years ago.

4. A sweater for the love of my life, after Interweave The Ultimate Gift. I chose Yorkshire Tweed 4ply from Rowan in a lovely dark red instead of the cashmere. All seamed, just the collar left to finish

5. Sunrise Circle Jacket in Alpaca Sport, 100% Alpaca. The color is a dark aubergine. This one is for me. All pieces finished. Needs blocking, sewing together.

6. Ruffles Scarf (Amanda Blair Brown) out of Scarf Style, in Lana Grossa Cool Wool 2000 print, color 725. This one is for Cathy for Christmas. So far, about 42" are knit.

7. Berlin Bag (original design from me). 100% Wool from Dyed in the Wool in England, in cream and tan, aran weight. This one is for me. I just need to finish the handles and then felt it and insert the lining. Oh... and publish the pattern for sale!

8. Shedir (Knitty.com Breastcancer awareness special edition) out of Lana Grossa Numero Uno Tweed, left over from the sweater I made for my brother two years ago. (Stashbusting!) Half done.

9. Pomatomus socks in Lana Grossa Meilenweit Boot Sock soft color. Done

10. Beaudelaire socks in Regia sock 4ply, color 315 (burgundy)

11. Faroese shawl - out of "A Gathering of Lace" - with 100% 3ply lambswool on needles 3.25mm (it will end up the smaller size). The color is a nice dark grey. Done

12. Simply Knitted Bodice, out of Lana Grossa Tusshena, 45% Kid Mohair, 55% Tussah Silk, in bronze.

Future projects: The "Deep V Argyle Vest" from Eunny and a scarf out of "Scarf Style" for my pal at the International Scarf Exchange 3, Hedera Socks, The sock of doom for the Sock Wars KAL (That will have to be in addition to my allowed 1 cast on for 2 FO's, since it is extremely time sensitive, LOL), RPM socks, Argyle Socks (Eunny) and Twisted Cable Socks from the new Knitty

Mea Culpa

NO. I have not finished two things. However, if I don't cast on the sweater for the husband it shalln't be done in time. So, one more thing on the list. Bleah.

On a brighter note my Knitpicks needles came and while my join needs a little emery work the tips are fab and the cable came out the package without having to be steamed. (Sigh, happy place.)

Opening inventory - break out the Ben and Jerry's

Actually pleasantly surprised to discover that I am not as far behind as I thought I was. My list of WIP is fairly short. It’s the mental stash list that made me think I had mondo work to do. Stash list being that object where you buy yarn for a certain project, put it away, and eventually forget what you bought it for and then find you don’t have enough for anything you want to knit now. I've started combatting this by taking a digital photo of the yarn with the pattern and storing it away. This alleviates PMS induced creative storming followed by "what in the fine fur of frogs was I thinking?"

On the needles currently…
1) Clapotis - photo on the blog
2) Judy’s scarf – this is for the holidays and must be finished with
posting time.
3) Buttonhole bag – bottom finished but sigh, no washer even if I get it knit
4) Grey spiral socks that shall have afterthought heels and deep purple
toes, they are for me and so low on the list.
5) Socks for the Adored One – leg of one started. Trying the 2 circular needle
method and remembering why I bought the stuff, did it for a while (2 years
ago) and stopped. But used it as an excuse to buy new KnitPicks needles
and waiting for the post to deliver them.
6) Side to side cardigan. For me, but the yarn may become something
more flattering.
7) Does it count as on the needles if you got to within 3 inches of finishing,
ran out of yarn and unraveled it? I think so, because it was expensive
SeaSilk and stares accusingly at me from the coat closet.

Does swatching count as on needles, casting on, or neither?

Anyone find themselves thinking about doing small projects so that they can finish and cast on new projects? My challenge is I have plans for sweaters for 6 of my future projects. That’ll cut into my casting on eh?

Checking in...

Hi everyone, I've been quiet lately so I thought I'd check in.

I killed two projects today - details on my blog. So two down, no new ones started - I think I have cured my case of "start-itis" even though I haven't gotten down to sewing my projects waiting for me in bags.....I've also actually been able to practice "project monogamy" with my Simple Knitted Bodice project, a major first for me. I started it on Friday, 9/1 with the KAL and have worked on it exclusively! Here's a pic of it - I'm so proud! I'm thinking maybe another week or week and a half and I'm done with this baby.

Trying to Combat Start-itis

Hi everyone,

I'm Lisa in Houston, Texas. I blogged about Two Steps Forward, One Step Back yesterday. I have lots of charity knitting to complete by the end of the month, so I didn't even post my long list of UFOs. I have some projects on the needle and others that haven't been started that were promised long ago.

My September goal is to finish my charity knitting. I've started mittens and socks, but I also want to knit a sweater for afghansforafghans.org.

I will be thrilled to finish these two in the next couple of months. I have other UFOs and will need to take an inventory of everything hidden away.

1. Samus: I have finished all except for the sleeves, but this has been sitting in my basket since last Winter.

2. Shapely T-shirt: I knitted most of this last summer, but for some reason put it down. Again, I think I only have the sleeves left.

My biggest problem is stash-related. I've planned so many projects that haven't been started. So my plan is to finish things on the needles and use up my stash.

Well... a lot of steps to go... LOL

9. Pomatomas socks in Lana Grossa Meilenweit Boot Sock soft color.

10. Beaudelaire socks in Regia sock 4ply, color 315 (burgundy)

11. Faroese shawl - out of "A Gathering of Lace" - with 100% 3ply lambswool on needles 3.25mm (it will end up the smaller size). The color is a nice dark grey.

Future projects: The simply knitted bodice for the sexy knitters knit along, the "Deep V Argyle Vest" from Eunny and a scarf out of "Scarf Style" for my pal at the International Scarf Exchange 3

I am hard at work on both the Ultimate Gift and the Baudelaire Socks, so I should be able to start with the SKB soon. LOL

By the way, does swatching count? Because if that is the case then the Deep V Argyle Vest is officially started (I made the swatch a little while ago, but haven't cast on).

Since a lot of these are Christmas Gifts, quite a few will be finished in the next few weeks and therefore make room for stuff for me!!! LOL.

Opening List

Hi everyone,

I thought I would post my opening "UFO list" and then go from there when showing new finished projects (or documenting the frogged ones) as well as starting new ones. This is the same ending list as the closeout one on the UFO August blog but I added my two new projects that I cast on (under the theory that I earned it by finishing 9 in August.) Going forward though, I'm going to finish two before I start one. Look forward to seeing everyone's list as well as newly cast on items!

Projects Still in Need of Additional Knitting
1. Stitch Diva Knitted Bodice (started 9/1 for KAL)
2. Bob's Big Wool basketweave cardigan from Men in Knits - finish left front; do right front, sleeves - gift knitting
3. Peg's garter stitch vest - webcast/gift knitting
4. coral CeCe in Calmer - all pieces are joined and need to knit up to finish remainder of front and back
5. Debbie Bliss lace/bobble jacket - fix pattern (rip few rows back) and finish back: may come back to this closer to spring as this is a spring item

Projects that Just Need Sewing/Picking Up Stitches
1. Noah's v-neck Yarn Girls "Mikey Liked It" pullover - sew
2. fuschia Cork baby sweater - sew
3. Greek Pullover from Interweave Knits – sew
4. Noro V-neck – sew
5. Jaeger Natural Fleece V-neck with "fur" trimmed sleeves from JB 38 – pick up neck, sew

Injured List/Questionable
1. Green Gable in Brown Sheep Lilac Haze - fix or RIP
2. Plymouth Napa ballet pullover from Interweave Knits back issue - finish sleeves or RIP
3. yellow/orange cork garter ridge sweater from Rowan Cork Collection – fix or RIP

So August 1st I had 20 projects in process - 9 finished = 11 WIPs +2 started = 13 ending inventory (yeah, I know - that accounting again - a convoluted knitting version of the cost of goods sold formula)
